Zell am See - "The sports’ region in the Pinzgau"

The Europa-Sport region of Zell am See is situated in the centre of the Pinzgau valley at a height of 758 m above sea level. Nestled between the Steinernes Meer (“Stonen Sea”) area and Glockner area in the National Park High Tauern, Zell am See has every kind of winter fun for small and big ski-fans on offer. Your skiing pleasure is guaranteed on Mount Kitzsteinhorn (3203 m) and Mount Schmittenhöhe (2000 m) - a mountain with the one of the most stunning panoramic views in Austria . The mountains have 130 km of excellently prepared slopes and are serviced by 55 cable-cars and ski-lift facilities. In periods of poor snow conditions 60% of the runs can be artificially snowed.
Zell am See also offers a wide range of alternatives for those who enjoy the more peaceful winter activities. Tracked cross-country routes, an ice rink, picturesque snow-cleared winter paths and the frozen lake of Zell are all there to be enjoyed. And if you want a change from winter-sports there are also tennis courts, a riding stable and numerous water parks for your fun and relaxation.
Zell am See is also famous for its night life. A large number of bars and restaurants, offering great Austrian hospitality, are the perfect invitation to enjoy a meal, a chat, a dance, or simply to relax.
Summer in Zell am See is a top holiday destination. The region offers the opportunity to swim in one of the cleanest lakes of Europe, as well as to participate in up to 40 different sports. It’s a true haven for the sports enthusiast - biking, hiking, sailing, canoeing, water ski, surfing, golf, horse riding are only some of the many sports awaiting you!

For less athletic guests there are many attractions in the old town of Zell. As well as a large number of shops and boutiques, you will find cosy restaurants, bars and taverns. The Pinzgau cuisine offers various traditional delights such as the famous “Pinzgauer Kasnock`n” (homemade pasta with cheese), the “Pinzgauer Laiberl” or the “Bladlkrapfn”.
